Prospective Cadet Orientation Information Fall 2013
Greetings Potential Flying Devils,
The Spring semester is over and the Cadre of the Air Force ROTC Detachment 025 are looking forward to the arrival of new cadets for the Fall 2013 semester. An orientation will be held for new cadets on Monday, August 19th, from 0700-1230 in the Life Sciences E-wing, Room 104. At the bottom of the page you will find three documents that provide very important information and the require paperwork you must bring to orientation. If you have any questions or want to meet with an AFROTC advisor, please call (480) 965-3181 to schedule an appointment. The AFROTC program was designed by AF leaders to run concurrently with the undergraduate program of your choice over the course of 4 years. It is possible to consolidate the first 2 years into 1 year, but the program still requires a full 3 years beginning in the Fall semester. Incoming Freshman joining the program must register for AES 101, 102 and 294. Sophomores joining the program must register for AES 101, 201, 202 and 294. Within the first two days of AES 294, we will conduct a baseline (ungraded) Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA). The baseline test provides a starting point for all cadets to improve upon during the course. PFA’s consist of 1 minute of push-ups, 1 minute of sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run. Below are the PFA standards for men and women:
Air Force Physical Fitness Standards
Men
Event Minimum Maximum
Push-ups 33 67
Sit-ups 42 58
1.5 Mile Run 12:53 9:12
Women
Event Minimum Maximum
Push-ups 18 47
Sit-ups 38 54
1.5 Mile Run 16:22 10:23
Again, if you have any questions, please contact us.
