Fall 2014 New Student Orientation
Greetings Potential Flying Devils,
The Spring 2014 semester has begun, and the Cadre of the Air Force ROTC Detachment 025 are excited about all of the new cadets that joined our program. If you missed the window to join AFROTC for this semester, then your next opportunity to enroll will be the Fall 2014 semester. Registration for the Fall 2014 semester begins on February 27, 2014 until the ASU add/drop date, August 22, 2014.
In addition to registering for your respective Aeropaces Studies (AES) courses, all incoming cadets are expected to attend the new student orientation on Monday, August 18th, from 0700-1230 in the Life Sciences E-wing, Room 104. Alternate orienations will be available for the small few that are unable to attend the August 18th orientation with prior coordination and approval, but no later than August 22, 2014. The attached documents at the bottom of the page provide very important information on orientation to include the paperwork required for enrollment. One of those documents is an AFROTC Form 28, which is required to participate in AES 294. If you have any questions about orientation, please review our Orientation FAQs section.
The AFROTC program was designed by AF leaders to run concurrently with the undergraduate program of your choice over the course of 4 years. New students on the 4 year plan must register for AES 101, 102, and 294. It is possible to consolidate the first 2 years into 1 year, but the program still requires a full 3 years beginning in the Fall semester. For 3 year students, you must enroll in AES 101, AES 201, AES 202, and AES 294. Within the first 2 days of AES 294, we will conduct a baseline (ungraded) Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA). The baseline test provides a starting point for all cadets to improve upon during the course. PFA’s consist of 1 minute of push-ups, 1 minute of sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run.
